Op Atalanta 04 - 2024/05/04
Situation
The operation to recover the hijacked cargo vessel 'MV Kuzma Minin' and secure the Eastside port proved successful, culminating in the safe rescue of all hostages. Substantial intelligence was acquired, some of it pivotal in subsequent assaults on the enemy's redundant supply depot and recently established headquarters. As a result of the three back to back operations and loss of their second in command, the Black Bear Raiders are severely weakened to the point of being inoperable. Although their manpower remains sizable in the region, the hindrance in easily replenishing equipment, weapons, and ammunition will drastically diminish their effectiveness within the region.
'MV Kuzma Minin' has made its way to Zelenogorsk port for unloading.
Among the intel gathered, ranging from Whitewater and Black Bears intentions and motives for hijacking the recent vessel, cargo they were after, collusion between an element within the NPL about a package and/or device. The most relevant right now was the capture of a Whitewater logistics specialist, who upon interrogation revealed significant details about the island, its operations and fortifications which will aid in the upcoming taskings.
Among the gathered intelligence, one particularly concerning piece, though unverified, highlights the mention of CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) equipment within a shipment labelled as "replacement parts" for a device already delivered to the NPL. Intelligence agencies have been mobilised, closely monitoring any discrepancies or reports of missing nuclear or biological shipments. So far, no alerts have been raised, but with the situation as it is will require active support as it continues to develop.
As operations continue regarding the device, here is what is known so far. There is confirmation of at least one device with the possibility of two being in the region. It is clear that at least the only device or one of the devices needs repairing for an unknown reason. Whitewater has been the front runner for a deal regarding transport, handling and location of the device. Black Bear has been responsible for storing and securing the device, under strict orders to move the device around locations. Someone within the NPL simply referred to as “DV” has been negotiating previously with Whitewater. The established chain of custody so far for the device we are aware of is as follows:
- Utes Airfield - Whitewater
- Multiple warehouses on Veteran island - Black Bear
- Eastside port - Black Bear
- ??? - Whitewater or NPL
Regarding the confirmed device, the current whereabouts are unknown. Possession of it may be with Whitewater on Bolshevik or has already been delivered to the contact within NPL. The second device, if it exists, is in the wind.

Intent & Tasking(s)
The intent of the following tasks are to secure and extract the Whitewater leader along with any intelligence regarding the location, contents and functionality of the device/package. Secondary intent is to assault the airfield and dismantle what remains of the Black Bear Raiders and Whitewaters logistics operation.
Main objectives overview - [ image 1 | image 2 ]
The priority aim in facilitating subsequent tasks on this operation is to secure the two islands serving as defensive bases for Bolshevik Island. Although the exact number of personnel stationed there is unknown, the fortifications, radars, and anti-aircraft assets are heavily concentrated around identified structures, with less coverage across the rest of their respective islands. Information comes from interrogation of Ryder Stone.
Upon securing the two islands and enabling air-assets to operate more freely, the main focus should shift towards securing the compound housing the Whitewater leader, who is expected to have a well armed force, multiple vehicle escorts, and established evac strategies. Given the restricted airspace, extraction by plane is deemed unlikely. While helicopter evacuation remains a possibility, it's suspected that his most probable exit route would be via one of the two ports on Bolshevik, either for departure from the region or to seek refuge in Novograd's territory, where plausible collusion between them and a faction within the Novograd People’s Legion (NPL) is significant.
Following the capture of the Whitewater leader, the subsequent objective is to eliminate and dismantle the remaining fortifications and supplies dispersed across the island at the three key identified positions. It's important to note that as you advance through critical sections of the airfield, additional assets or sites may come to light, warranting further attention.
