Situation

After multiple raids into Novograd territory, two of the following major events happened. DV, now known as “Dmitri Volkov”, the Novograd General for South and South West District after arriving back in the region, has launched a coup against the current governing body of Novograd. A significant portion of the military joined him and the majority of the ones capitulated when assaults and airstrikes were conducted on their position. A few remaining forces surrounding the capital are holding out with a majority of NPL forces moving into the region we are operating from, reinforcing the positions and supply lines to the Borealos border.

During the coup, 3 fast moving aircraft were shot down on approach to HMS Dauntless and Utes, believed to be attempting a retaliatory strike for the recent operations into Novograd. While unsuccessful, HMS Dauntless out of caution has moved east and more radar installations and Anti Air defences are to be deployed.

Borealos government after being looped into the current situation regarding the CBRN devices in play and the suspected plan to use the devices against them, along with the massing troops on their border decided to preemptively engage border forces and push into Novograd, against heavy recommendation. Heavy casualties were sustained and supply lines were ambushed consistently by Novograd Special Force. After two days of consistent fighting BDF forces had managed to reach the towns of Svyatnyy and Dubovo. The airfield, likely known to be a priority target for the BDF, was significantly under defended and secured, however fortified positions to the North and West prevented major advancements. 

The UK parliament has agreed to conduct supporting operations that will allow for locating and destroying the device as well as limited operations to disrupt and sabotage NPL logistics and supplies.

Acknowledgements

The airfield to the North of the region has had a significant, three fold uptick in activity. Transport helicopters, trucks and troop movement have been identified moving West, reinforcing and securing positions as they advance. Confirmed anti-air emplacements are condensing to the North with a heavy build up for NPL infantry and armour to the West.

Intent & Tasking(s)

The intent of the following taskings are to secure vital intelligence directly from “DV” and/or any digital and physical assets at his main residence that may point to the location of the device(s). Once secured it will take time to analyse. Secondary intent is to destroy a HQ, supply depot and bridge to the North. Allowing BDF forces to make more effective advances into the region.

Primary objective is to raid and secure any intelligence inside the main residence of “DV”. While it is unlikely due to the recent coup that he will be at his residence, if he is there, he should be captured alive. Based on the intel gathered here, once analysed, 40 Commando may be retasked immediately to the location of one or both of the devices if found. Close to his residence is a known Anti Air location and Special Forces HQ under direct command of “DV”. Secondary tasking is to destroy and confirm destruction of the installation. While there may be valuable intel inside the HQ, there will be heavy reinforcements from the East once the operation commences. It is advised to leave the AO once objectives have been completed. 

We are expecting there to be a lot of intelligence gathered from his residence. Due to the time it will take to analyse we worked with Borealos intelligence to identify targets that would assist them in their ongoing advances. Out of the targets available and within the scope of our remit, two close together provide a viable target for 40 Commando. Destroying the frontline HQ and supply depot at a trainyard South of Peregon along with causing the collapse of two bridges to the West of Peregon. Borealos Special Forces managed to place some explosives on the eastern columns but were engaged and unsuccessful in detonating and bringing the bridge down. We should only need to plant and detonate explosives on the western side to complete the tasking.
