Op Red Resurgence 06 - 2024/10/26
Situation
During the previous operation, a rescue attempt of Lucas Romanov being held captive at a safehouse in Loboda was too late as BLF forces pushing westward were spotted in the forests east of Loboda, forcing his captors to move him to a new safehouse in the town of Kochergin where Lucas was located, secured and extracted safely by 40Cdo and JAC. Using the chaos from raiding the safehouse, 40Cdo assaulted and cleared FOB Beletskiy allowing BLF forces to push into the town and secure a new foothold.
Seredinskiy under attack: While the garrison and town of Seredinskiy was secured and reinforced multiple attacks by AFB have been slowly pushing towards the town. The latest report suggests a build up of mechanised and infantry units moving towards Seredinskiy with the intent to retake it. Civilians have been evacuated to the east to a destroyed unnamed town, hopefully being able to regroup with BLF after they successfully capture FOB Novo. Once FOB Novo is secured, UK forces garrisoned in Seredinskiy will fall back to the east to FOB Novo and assist BLF in destroying MOB Ivanov and establishing checkpoints along the road.
High value target located: At the safehouse where Lucas Romanov was located and secured, a broken laptop was recovered which upon running recovery tools on the laptop a partial calendar with an upcoming meeting for Sergei Ivanov with his brother Viktor Ivanov was found. Knowing his current location and location of the meeting, we're able to assume the route his convoy will be taking and intercept it.
Intelligence Updates:
- Permanent and temporary checkpoints are being established in the southern region, in an attempt by AFB to prevent civilians joining BLF since their leader Lucas, now free, has joined the BLF inciting a larger recruitment of numbers and more support from UK Politicians to support and arm.
- Placement of checkpoints appear to be around FOB's and infrastructure to prevent freedom of movement to BLF forces.
Acknowledgements
- Refer to the situation report for detailed information on known factions and identification protocols.
- Civilian presence remains high in urban areas. Continue to exercise extreme caution to minimise collateral damage and maintain positive relations with the local population.
- Ivanov's regime continues to control state media. Be aware that civilian information may be compromised or manipulated.
- Any sightings or information related to high-value targets should be immediately reported through the appropriate chain of command.
- AFB has significantly bolstered its presence in the southern region, deploying more forces and engineers to the front lines.
Commanders intent
Exploiting the intel recovered from the safehouse will allow us to disrupt enemy positions in Belmorra by capturing or destroying Sergei Ivanov who has been responsible for the continued oppression of Belmorran civilians and using his 1st Ghost Regiment to sabotage BLF and UK efforts. Capturing Sergei will be a huge intel resource along with significant leverage to pressure his brother Viktor Ivanov to end the coup of Belmorra.
