Situation

The cartel's eastern fortifications could potentially prove to be a formidable barrier to our operations, heavily supplemented by nearby supply depots that ensure a constant flow of arms and equipment. Intelligence indicates that these strong points are connected by a network of hardened bunkers, gun emplacements, and well-stocked warehouses, allowing for rapid defence. Securing these positions would not only deprive the cartel of crucial supply lines but also provide a more stable foothold for subsequent inland operations and security of the newly establish FOB Cabro.

Beyond the coast, a civilian airfield presents a critical strategic objective. Though currently only lightly defended, cartel forces are moving to reinforce it as they become aware of our expanding presence in the area. If they manage to establish entrenched defences, the airfield could quickly become a major logistical hub, enabling expedited troop movements and an accelerated flow of contraband. Prioritising this location ensures we can deny the cartel air mobility while also gaining favour with the local population.

Deeper into the territory, the cartel maintains the main garrison for the entire eastern region, housing seasoned paramilitaries and advanced support weapons. Disabling this fortified compound will greatly diminish the enemy’s command-and-control capabilities, undercutting their capacity to launch counterattacks or move reinforcements. Furthermore, capturing the garrison’s operational records may reveal the scope of their supply chains, future troop deployments, and critical communication channels—key intelligence that could accelerate our progress.

In parallel, we have received a surprising offer of assistance from previous team mates of Emiliano ~~Osorio.~~Osorio. Despite his history of training the cartel’s foot soldiers, he has hinted at dissatisfaction with their recent tactics and has agreed to aid our efforts on condition that we rendezvous covertly under the cover of darkness. By securing an unguarded approach and maintaining discretion, we can potentially gain invaluable insider knowledge to dismantle the cartel from within, turning one of their own primary assets into a serious liability against them.

Civilian population are neutral to our activities, though it is likely members of the cartel are among the population.
Police, while government-funded and cartel-controlled, appear to heavily support the local population. While not overtly hostile, they are unlikely to assist us in anyway and will most likely report our positions if detected.

Commanders intent

The intent for the first phase of Operation White Orchid is to destabilise the Chucomayo Cartel’s forward infrastructure along the coast and weaken its grip on the surrounding jungle interior. This will be achieved by executing a series of coordinated strikes targeting their logistical lifelines, degrading their ability to project force, and establishing a foothold for deeper inland operations.

These operations will prioritise the disruption of cartel movement by dismantling air and maritime mobility, followed by the capture of strategic positions that offer both operational leverage and intelligence value. Civilian engagement will be minimised, though heightened cartel presence near population centres may result in indirect resistance.

We will exploit cartel overconfidence and their rapid overextension of military assets while attempting to locate and secure key personnel, aiming to prepare the battlespace for targeted action against high-value individuals in later phases of the operation.
