Situation

Our tactical withdrawal from the defensive positions at OBJ Jade has successfully disrupted COST's operational tempo, forcing them to consolidate rather than advance rapidly toward their primary objectives. Signal intelligence assets have intercepted critical communications between COST command elements discussing their long-term strategic objectives in Kambala, revealing a plan far more ambitious than previously assessed. Decoded transmissions confirm their intention to install Minister Kwame Okafor as a puppet president with the backing of compromised KAF leadership, effectively establishing a proxy government amenable to Chinese resource extraction interests.

Intelligence has successfully located Minister Okafor in the town of Kawiya, holding out with a small KAF security detail and what appears to be a four-man COST protection team. The minister's presence in the region, far from the capital provides compelling evidence of his direct complicity in the ongoing destabilisation campaign. His movements suggest he is attempting to maintain a low profile while remaining within reach of COST command elements.

Behavioural analysis of Minister Okafor's previous movements and current security posture suggests he will attempt to flee westward toward the border if he perceives an imminent threat to his safety. This assessment is reinforced by the limited viable escape routes in other directions and the concentration of COST assets that can rapidly deploy north to support. Communications intelligence indicates COST has prepared contingency extraction protocols for the minister, considering him a high-value intelligence asset who possesses comprehensive knowledge of Kambalan government operations and vulnerabilities.

COST has established logistics and fortification positions approximately 2km south of the town of Danashiwa. Satellite reconnaissance confirms the presence of supply depots, vehicle maintenance facilities, and defensive emplacements consistent with preparations for sustained operations in the region. These forward operating positions represent critical infrastructure supporting COST's operational capability and would likely serve as staging areas for future offensive actions once they have consolidated their current territorial gains.

While our immediate force posture limits our ability to mount a full-scale assault on these fortified positions, a carefully executed probe of their position could yield valuable intelligence regarding COST tactical procedures, command and control protocols, and equipment capabilities. Such intelligence would prove invaluable in developing effective counter-strategies as we transition from delaying actions to more decisive operations against COST elements in the region.

  • Refer to the situation report for detailed information on known factions and identification.
  • Civilian population are neutral to our activities, though it is likely a small amount support the Sons of Bala.
  • Kambalan Armed Forces have been withdrawn from the reason by President Mugambe and his cabinet, any remaining KAF personnel and assets operating are likely compromised.
  • President Mugambe has authorised full combat operations against COST elements, who are to be treated as hostile foreign combatants operating without legal authorisation on Kambalan soil.

Commanders intent

Intent for this operation is to execute a synchronised three-pronged approach: capture Minister Kwame Okafor to sever the connection between COST and compromised KAF leadership; conduct reconnaissance of COST logistics hub to assess capabilities and vulnerabilities; and secure the western river crossing to prevent enemy flanking manoeuvres. Capturing Minister Okafor alive is the primary objective, as his intelligence value regarding COST operations and compromised KAF elements is essential for dismantling this network. Secondary objectives include gathering actionable intelligence on COST fortifications while preserving force strength through calculated engagement only when tactical advantage exists before our reinforcements and resupply arrive to sustain operations in Kambala.
