Op Red Resurgence 02 - 2024/09/28

Situation

Following the successful execution of OP 01, our forces have established a foothold on Atamanka island and significantly disrupted the Armed Forces of Belmorra's (AFB) air capabilities. However, Viktor Ivanov's regime continues to consolidate power across Belmorra Island, with increased military presence due to the new threat of invading UK forces intel suggests an increase in troop deployments over key infrastructure specifically focusing on the northern area and slowly pushing down south.

GCHQ Intel Recovery: During the raid on the GCHQ backup site, critical intelligence was downloaded before the equipment was destroyed. This intel provides the latest information on Russian communications regarding active operations in Ukraine. Additionally, a note from Alastair Blackwood, head of signals and intel analysis for GCHQ on Belmorra, was recovered. Blackwood specialises in Russian and Eastern European communications and managed to secure this data at great personal risk. His note indicates that one of his operatives has been captured and is being held at a POW camp. Blackwood expressed his intention to attempt a rescue of this operative due to the lack of communications with higher ups and ability to request assistance in the matter.

Officer Interrogation: An officer of the Belmorra Logistics Corps (BLC) by the name of Vasil Pushkin, guarded by Belmorran Special Forces, was captured near Atamanka airfield at his residence. Upon interrogation aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth, he revealed crucial information about supply routes. Previously responsible for managing supply lines from Western nations and Ukraine, he cooperated out of fear with Ivanov's regime to establish new supply routes of Russian equipment they are now manufacturing. The officer has provided detailed intel on the southern port and its key facilities, including cell phone image of a critical building that, if toppled onto the railway tracks, could severely disrupt their supply operations. ISTAR via JAC confirmed the building to a viable target via the Watchkeeper

AFB has likely heightened alert levels following our previous operation, the redeploying of troops across the island seems to suggest they are expecting a northern attack which provides an opening to secure a foothold in the south, disrupt their main supply line and rescue our UK operatives at the POW camp.

Communications captured from the island of Tikhoretsk suggest a wildcat, during a close air strike at the FOB to the East of Tikhoretsk was heavily damaged and crash landed within the FOB's perimeter. A small garrison of AFB forces are sending vehicles from FOB Prigo to attempt to recover the wildcat. It's vital we prevent them moving the wildcat, despite its un-flyable condition to a location where it could be disassembled and examined. It's likely being kept in a nearby hanger or hidden with camo nets.

  • Refer to the situation report for detailed information on known factions and identification protocols.
  • Civilian presence is high in urban areas. Exercise extreme caution to minimise collateral damage and maintain positive relations with the local population.
  • Ivanov's regime has implemented state-controlled media. Civilian information may be compromised or unknowingly manipulated.
  • Any sightings or information related to UK citizens or GCHQ personnel should immediately be reported through the appropriate chain of command.

Commanders intent

The intent of this operation is to further degrade Ivanov's military capabilities, rescue key allied personnel, and significantly disrupt the regime's supply lines. These actions aim to weaken the AFB's operational capacity and potentially spark increased civilian unrest against Ivanov's rule.
